Hi Emily,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are off to a great start on your diet. I found myself getting very creative while on my diet (I'm a chef) but one key ingredient I as able to keep was kosher salt. Avoiding iodized salt in processed foods is very hard because labels don't state what kind is used. But many kosher foods are free of iodized salt. As for the chocolate craving, look for the kind with high cocoa content. Some brands may work for you.
My surgery was Nov 2012, and the cancer was found post-op. I went on the low-iodine diet in January, RAI at the end of that month, and I have big follow-up appointment next week. I've had a lot of anxiety lately as this appointment has gotten closer, and being part of a community and sharing these thoughts have really helped me.
Keep writing, keep hoping, and keep fighting.
I grew up in the kitchen....someone was always cooking so I am learning to make things I love to eat but without salt....
DeleteI miss chocolate!!!
